Must preregister. English and Spanish. Good listening requires patience — Concentrate, listen with both ears. We need to hear the whole train of thought, way to the caboose, before starting across the tracks. Good listening is an act of love. It flows from a humble heart that counts others more significant than ourselves Philippians It looks not only to its own interests, but also the interests of others Philippians It is patient and kind 1 Corinthians Good listening asks perceptive questions.
Good listening is ministry. There will be days when the most important ministry we do is square our shoulders to some hurting person, uncross our arms, lean forward, make eye contact, and hear their pain all the way to the bottom. Good listening prepares us to speak well. Good listening reflects our relationship with God. This is the beginning of the death of the spiritual life. It may be one of the hardest things we learn to do, but we will find it worth every ounce of effort.
God speaks In the stillness of the night He speaks In the day so warm and bright The flaming sunset paints the sky and sets the clouds ablaze God speaks in all these wondrous ways. God speaks In the mountains and the plains He speaks In the scent of autumn rains In mighty rivers rushing in their haste to reach the sea God speaks in you and me.
God speaks In the whiteness of the snow He speaks And the flowers begin to grow His voice is heard in chapel bells and in the peaceful dove God speaks in every heart that loves. We apologize that from readily available resources we were unable to determine who wrote this song. There are several songs of the same name, including the song that we quoted in the first section of this email.
The seashore is an honest place. Failure no longer seems fatal.
You are stripped to your essentials. Jesus had a mission for Peter: to fish for converts to the Gospel and to feed His lambs and sheep. Perhaps you were not faithful.
Perhaps you disobeyed His word to you. Perhaps you denied Him by the way you lived. Jesus will take you aside, as He did Peter. He will not berate you. He will not humiliate you. If you truly love Him, you will obey Him John Jesus does not need your resolutions, your recommitments, or your promise to try harder this year. If your resolve to obey God last year did not help you to be faithful, it will not make you successful this year.
Jesus asks for your love. If you truly love Him, your service for Him in the new year will be of the quality that He desires.

Discover the Healthier You! Support each other dealing with the challenges of diabetes on the second Thursday of each month from to PM at Texas Health Huguley Education Building, Each session has new material to present. A hook is the symbol of a fisherman, while a crook is the symbol of a shepherd. Here then in this chapter are symbolized the two ministries of the church: fishing and shepherding. That is how the work of God goes forward. That is where John closes his account of the life of Jesus.
Both the fisherman who does the work of an evangelist, and the shepherd, the teacher, and the pastor, the nurturer of faith—whether that is a mother teaching her children in the home, a teacher in a home Bible class or an outreach ministry of any kind—can rest upon the revelation of God in the Word of God. What a reliable testimony it is! Let us go forth to proclaim this word and fulfill our gifts in the ministry God has given us.
That is the most important thing in life—to do what God has sent us here to do. On a luminous Christmas Eve fifty years ago this week, three awestruck astronauts circled the moon for the first time ever. Shimmering in space, our exquisite blue-and-white planet looked fragile! Taking turns, they read Genesis And the Spirit of God was hovering over the face of the waters. For example, those who believe that God created a good earth will be open to thoroughly enjoy all that He has given them. At the same time they will be anxious to preserve it.
